Who is a servant leader?
"The servant-leader is servant first... It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. That person is sharply different from one who is leader first, perhaps because of the need to assuage an unusual power drive or to acquire material possessions... The leader-first and the servant-first are two extreme types. Between them there are shadings and blends that are part of the infinite variety of human nature."

Servant leadership @ UST
I have always believed that when we aspire to a purpose higher than ourselves, we truly make a difference to those around us. UST was founded on this purpose and our values, which fundamentally help all of us as USsociates, to transform lives. And it is also this very selfless purpose that lies at the heart of the servant leadership philosophy in our organization."

What they think of us
Attended an engaging session on Servant Leadership at UST. It was conducted with a difference. Thank you Dr. Madana Kumar, PhD. More than just understanding the leadership philosophy, it was interesting to gain insights on the case for it at the workplace, the display of leadership commitment and its seriousness for a successful future, the organizational framework adapting to the philosophy and the action plan to get started on the journey. It really is a bold step to put the talk into action and I'm thankful that the organization invests to groom us into successful leaders.

I just wanted to reach out and say a big thank you for conducting 2 days Servant Leadership workshop. I found them extremely beneficial and enlightening. Well-organized training. The material was very interesting and the discussions were truly inspiring. I especially enjoyed the visual illustrations, which made the content easily understandable. I genuinely enjoyed each and every moment of it. You have all done a wonderful job.

"First of all, A big shout-out and a heartfelt note of thanks to all the facilitators. On a personal note, I always avoided online classes - there are plenty right now in the online space - as it demands continuous attention, something right now is tough to adhere to. For me, it's a personal achievement, not just able to complete and comprehend the ideas, but to take home a new perspective on leadership. I learned a lot, but most importantly, there were many ideas that I unlearned! I have a huge team to support and people come in various shapes and sizes. Thanks, Madana, for seeding this exhilarating concept in my head. I would like to hear from you some books that provide some ideas about different leadership styles. Mary, it's our second meeting and always it was a pleasure. Again, Thanks to all. These two days were time well spent!"

I am really excited with the journey I had in Servant Leadership Programme in UST and become a Servent Leadership Champion and Coach. It is facinating to see that the Servant Leadership concepts are well connected and alligned with the UST Values. As UST continues its journey in the Digital transformation, am sure and confident that Servant Leadership style and concepts will be an enabler or accelerator for UST to be the People and Customer preferred company to work with.
